Sat Nam and Greetings from New Mexico!

2011 has been a great year for KRI. We have entered the Aquarian Age and Teacher Training is growing all over the world. Level Three Teacher Training is in development and the Mentoring process for Trainers in the Aquarian Trainer Academy has been established.

We have produced several great products for teachers and students this year. “Everyday Devotion”, “Success and the Spirit”, “Art and Yoga,” “Rebirthing” and the continuation of the “I am a Woman” DVD series. In addition, we have all our books and manuals in e-book format now. You can purchase and download them here. http://thesource.kriteachings.org/category_s/55.htm

Our Level One and Level Two Teacher Training courses here at Hacienda de Guru Ram Das were magnificent this summer; and The Yogi Bhajan Library of Teachings archiving and preservation project is making very steady progress.

Now that we have passed 11/11/11 and the Aquarian Age is here, we get asked questions about early morning Sadhana. Is there a new Sadhana? Did Yogi Bhajan leave instructions for a new Sadhana? The answer is that the only instruction that Yogi Bhajan left for us was that we could continue the current Aquarian Sadhana, exactly as he taught it, or KRI could decide to change it. Our KRI Teacher Trainer Executive Committee met about this topic and decided that we would keep doing the Aquarian Sadhana, with no changes, indefinitely. No changes to the overall structure of the Sadhana or to the order, positions, mudras or mantras in the meditation. So, you can continue to use your favorite Sadhana music as well as look forward to many new versions from our wonderful musicians! If you would like to know the history of our 3HO early morning Sadhana, there is a great write up in our most popular manual, “Kundalini Yoga Sadhana Guidelines, 2nd Edition.”

I would like to draw your attention to one of the most exciting publishing projects that we have ever done at KRI. We have sixteen new DVD’s from the “Rebirthing” series of lectures from Yogi Bhajan, making a total of twenty-four in the series. And at 3HO Winter Solstice Sadhana we will have the 464 page “Rebirthing” manual that contains all the lectures and kriyas that Yogi Bhajan has given on this important subject. These classes are among the most engaging and powerful that Yogi Bhajan ever taught. http://thesource.kriteachings.org/SearchResults.asp?Search=rebirthing&Submit=Search

My personal thanks go to the KRI Board of Directors for a job well done this year. The Board continues to be dedicated and actively engaged in the work of KRI.

And thanks so much for your year- end donations to the Yogi Bhajan Library of Teachings!

May you have a blessed Winter Solstice celebration and may your Holidays be filled with happiness, grace and fun with family and friends!

Kind regards,

Yogi Bhajan Library of Teachings

 Sat Nam!

"My life and my ability to handle it has been so transformed by Kundalini Yoga, I don't know how I ever got along without it!" Do you hear yourself saying this? I hear it more and more these days.

The times are changing, what used to work doesn't always seem to work as well as it did. More and more people are finding that the Teachings of Yogi Bhajan have awakened their inner light, so that they can see what is real and true. These invaluable teachings are guiding them through the current financial and global transitions.

Here are the three keys to Success and the Spirit:

1. Know who you are
2. Allow everything to come to you
3. Share it with others

From Success & the Spirit: An Aquarian Path to Abundance

Your donations to KRI, large and small, are gratefully acknowledged and accepted, and continue to be essential to the preservation and organization of these important teachings. Thanks to you, transcription is nearing completion, audio and video digitization continues, and building the foundation for the on-line database is an immediate KRI goal. See Nirvair’s video at www.yogibhajan.org to learn more. As we approach the end of the year, KRI currently needs $60,000 to meet our year-end budget. Please donate today! (link)

If you want to make your gifts more personal this holiday season, consider giving a gift certificate from KRI's online store The Source. Make sure your friends and family know about KRIs new e-book store for the IPad or Kindle.

We are also offering a gift for a donation to the KRI photo archives, Facets of the Master, a DVD of over 236 photos. Our photo archives contain 80,000 photos, negatives and slides which are at risk, and need to be digitized and preserved. These photos are an important part of the history of Yogi Bhajan, the communities he founded, and his travels around the world. This premium gift is offered for a one time donation of $108 or more, earmarked to KRI Photo Archives.

Much love to you…Enjoy this cozy time with family and friends through the Winter Solstice Season, and our best wishes for a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year.

We Are KRI

Sat Nam,

It is that time of year again, we are approaching the shortest day of the year. And at Winter Solstice we go deep within, to our stillness, to reflect on the year that has past and the year ahead. With the change of the age, we are also reflecting on the past Age and how to live in the Aquarian Consciousness of this new Age.

On November 11, 2011, we moved into the Aquarian Age together and soon we will celebrate the first Winter Solstice of the Aquarian Age. Yogi Bhajan has been preparing us for years to be Kundalini Yoga Teachers in the Aquarian Age, in the age of We not I and how true this is. And beyond We is Thee. In 1998 he gave us the meditation, I , my mind, We Thou Thee in order to be ready. This is the flow from individual to group to Universal consciousness which is our ultimate destination. “From I you can go to Thou. That’s the destination, destiny, and that is the procedure. When you, yourself, within yourself, decide that we are ready. “ © The Teachings of Yogi Bhajan, June 19, 1998

At Winter Solstice KRI will again offer the Trainers Forum. An opportunity for Trainers at all stages of development, from Applicants to Lead Trainers, to join together and share best practices. This year we will meet on Sunday December 18th, the arrival day for Winter Solstice, at the Hampton Inn from 9 am – 4:30 pm. You can register on the KRI website. If you have questions, please contact me at hck@kriteachings.org. The Forum is a very rich experience to sit together with fellow trainers and to learn from one another as well as to develop new skills and to get up to date on what is happening in the Aquarian Trainer Academy.

Did you know that in 2011, as a global community of Trainers, we offered more than 150 Level One Teacher Training Programs around the globe ? And the Aquarian Trainer Academy now has more than 600 members at various levels of development. One of the places where trainers from around the world come to work together is at the Level One Immersion Course that KRI offers each summer at Hacienda de Guru Ram Das. One of the things that I love about the Immersion Level One Course here in New Mexico is that it is a team approach. The Teachings and the Home of Yogi Bhajan attract students from around the globe; and through the team of Trainers and Trainers in Training we support the students to come to stillness, to meditate in the group and with the Master, and to discover and illuminate the teacher within. If you have a longing to progress as a Trainer or to progress from student to teacher, and long to meditate at the home of Yogi Bhajan, please join us for the first Immersion of the Aquarian Age at Hacienda de Guru Ram Das in August 2012. We will be here to meet you, to greet you and to support you as your develop yourself through your practice to become a Kundalini Yoga Level One Instructor.

We Are KRI is reaching out more and more in this age, working to bring Kundalini Yoga and Teacher Training to areas of the globe where there is little or no Kundalini Yoga offered. We are in the beginning stages of creating a Reach Out Program which will offer trainings with global teams. If you are interested in being part of this program I look forward to hearing you. The intention of this program is to offer affordable teacher training to help develop new centers, which was Yogi Bhajan’s original concept of Reach Out—Teach Out. So as we move into the Aquarian Age together, may we continue to reach out to new areas together.

Blessings,

Hari Charn Kaur Khalsa

From the Editor’s Desk

Just last week I put to bed probably the longest and most significant project in my tenure here at KRI—Rebirthing. And in many ways it was like giving birth to an elephant! It took about that long—16 months—and it’s about that big: 464 pages of some of the most transformative kriyas Yogi Bhajan ever taught.

A lot of hands came together to manifest this project. From the DVD developers, Convivial Design, to the photographer and Cover Designer, Ravitej Singh, to the interior designer, Guru Raj Kaur, to the original recordings by Siri Ved Singh. Each of us has been changed due to our work on this project. They represent the essence of Yogi Bhajan’s entire lifetime of teaching: Drop the past. Find the God within. Live in light and love.

In these lectures, Yogi Bhajan practically implores us to stop suffering. He cajoles, he encourages, he pleads and he commands. Clean out the garbage and be free! Stop looking and simply be! Be to Be! He gave us so many tools to prepare for the times ahead—but “the time is now, and now is the time.” Are we ready? Any one of these kriyas has the capacity to change us, transform us, and prepare us for the present moment. Select one, or work your way through the entire series; but give yourself a chance to be reborn.

We’ve been talking about it for awhile, and believe me, it was worth the wait. It seems my entire life has changed since this project began in September 2010; and as it goes to press an entire new stage of my life is being born. Check out Rebirthing and find out what may change in you.

Available December 15, 2011. $39.95. 464 pages. Paperback. www.kundaliniresearchinstitute.org

Pistachio Paranthas

Pistachio Paranthas

Taken from Man to Man
A Journal of Discovery for the Conscious Man
The Men's Teachings of Yogi Bhajan, PhD
Master of Kundalini Yoga

This food can help take care of arthritis as well as help a man with building his potency. One day a week eat two paranthas; live on those two paranthas that day. In this way you can be resettled.

FLOUR:
1/2 cup Corn flour (not corn meal)
1/2 cup Garbanzo flour
1/2 cup Bhajara flour (available in Indian stores; if not on hand, use whole wheat flour)
3 cups Whole wheat flour

Mix the flours together until you have a dough consistency. You may want to use less of the garbanzo flour and more of the bhajara or whole wheat flour, as these latter two tend to make the dough stick together a little bit better.

STUFFING:
1 lb. pistachio nuts (unsalted, shelled)
1 cup minced cauliflower
1 onion chopped
2 teaspoons saffron
1 teaspoon red chiles
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup of milk
ghee

The use the saffron, you must first take the saffron and soak it over night in milk. In the morning take all the above ingredients, and blend them together in a food processor until you have a fine mixture.

The pistachio nuts are the main ingredient in this stuffing mixture; use a smaller amount of cauliflower than you do pistachio nuts. All of the other ingredients can be used in any amount you wish as seasonings.

To prepare the parantha: Once you have the dough made and you have kneaded it for a while, place about a golf-ball sized ball in your hand. On a floured surface, roll the dough out with a rolling pin until you have if flattened to about 6 inches in diameter. Next take about 1/2 of the stuffing mixture, place it in the middle of the flattened dough. Next bring the sides of the dough up, and pinch them together at the top, completely sealing the stuffing mixture inside. Now roll it out again into a flattened 6 inch diameter. In a chapati pan or frying pan, over a low-medium flame, place your stuffed parantha. Cook it on one side for about 10 to 15 minutes on this dry pan. After 10 to 15 minutes, turn it over and then take a lot of ghee, and pour it on top of the parantha. It will go through the bread to the other side. Cook this side for about 5 minutes on the same low-medium flame. Take a spoon and keep pressing down on it, until it is done. It is very delicious. It can be eaten with yogurt. It is a very pure food.
