Sat Naam and Greetings from Massachusetts!
We at KRI are continuing our focus on Healing this month. You are warmly invited to join us in our 2nd global 40-day meditation beginning on 4th (but you can join even after that date!). Click here to join for free a daily practice of the healing Ra-Ma-Da-Sa meditation.
I have been struck lately by a deepening understanding of how many different layers and levels there are to “healing.” As the world wakes up to the damaging impacts that trauma can have physically, mentally and emotionally; we are also learning that trauma can be passed down through epigenetics to future generations. We are also just beginning to understand how society and culture (such as systemic racism and sexism) can cause chronic stress and, for some people, trauma responses.
So we are faced with the need to heal not only ourselves, but to heal our previous generations. And to not only work to heal the judgements and prejudices that we absorbed as children, but to also try to heal (fix) the systems that have unfortunately been embedded with those prejudices.
Luckily, Kundalini Yoga and Meditation is a great tool to add with other individual healing modalities and to all forms of activism and social change movements. It can help you access and release subconscious and unconscious stress – the places where trauma can get “stored” and keep affecting us for years and generations. Conscious breathing is one of the most powerful tools you can use to heal yourself, and Kundalini Yoga has hundreds of pranayamas that can help access your subconscious mind and heal on many deep layers. One of the best resources KRI has about breathing techniques and its effects is the book “Prana, Pranee Pranayam.” This manual guides you through over 100 powerful practices! This month KRI is offering a special 20% discount on ths amazing book.
No matter how much experience you have with Kundalini Yoga, you can dive deeply in a 6 day meditation experience with the 21 Stages of Meditation course. KRI is offering this as an online experience (you can take just 2 days if you want!) beginning Oct 11th, or check out this list of all the courses coming soon!
If you are not yet a Kundalini Yoga teacher, I encourage you to consider taking a KRI certified Level One Teacher Training course. Even if you don’t intend to ever teach it, the months of study and intensive personal practice in a teacher training often facilitates a deep personal transformation process and healing. And the more you heal yourself across all the various levels and dimensions of yourself, the more you will naturally be a “teacher” to others – a beacon of light and hope and possibility. You can consider KRI’s upcoming hybrid course (6 months online and then 10 days in-person in Costa Rica, with a 100% online option), or any of the amazing courses online and near you!
Be blessed, happy and healthy,
