Child Safeguarding Statement
The Siri Singh Sahib Corporation (SSSC) and its affiliate organizations serve humanity through the teachings of Sikh Dharma and Yogi Bhajan, aiming to elevate individual and community consciousness. SSSC and its affiliated organizations have a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of abuse or exploitation.
At Kundalini Research Institute, we are committed to a safe environment, particularly for children and young people, and have clear guidelines for their safety and protection. This policy covers all SSSC and Legacy Non-Profit Organizations (LNPOs) personnel: employees, board members, and volunteers.
We believe we have a responsibility to promote the welfare of children and young people and keep them safe.
We recognize that the welfare of children is paramount and requires partnership with children, their families, and other agencies. All children deserve equal protection from harm, regardless of background, though some may need additional safeguards due to vulnerability.
We ensure child safety by: valuing and listening to them; adopting best practices through policies, procedures, and codes of conduct; providing staff/volunteer management, support, training, and quality assurance; and safely recruiting and selecting staff/volunteers, including necessary background check and responding to their reports and concerns with meaningful action.
We commit to: building a safeguarding culture where all treat one another with respect and feel safe to share concerns; sharing safeguarding information and good practice with children and families; creating and maintaining an anti-bullying environment with relevant health and safety measures; and managing allegations against staff/volunteers appropriately using established procedures through the SSSC Office of Ethics & Professional Standards & SSSC Office of Dharmic Counsel.
