This is a time where we see violence and pain in the world. This urgent moment is calling for us to change and to connect. We need to understand the path for transformation and empathy to survive these challenging times.

Dr. Nirinjan Kaur has created a four part series based on the book by Valarie Kaur, “See No Stranger: A Memoir and Manifesto of Revolutionary Love.” In this course we will explore the concepts of the book and how Revolutionary Love is the solution to our current conflicts. Revolutionary Love calls us to be brave as we fight for the dignity of all life.

At the end of this journey you should come out of this experience engaged and firmly rooted in your own authenticity, principles and values and how you want to show up in the world to care for yourself and others.

Why taking this course is better than sitting home alone and reading “See No Stranger”:

You’re sensitive to what is going on, you see the conflict around you and you need SUPPORT within a self paced group experience to integrate these concepts and really make change happen. That is what is SO valuable. We have done book clubs before and we know that dialogue with community is a way to own/embody the concepts and language so you can share them with those around you and have the tools to bring true to change this world. Even if you think you don’t have the time, just hopping on one or two of the live options and listening to/watching the replays will give you what you need for an inner heart evolution that turns into embodied actions in this world.

  • We are wondering – how we can help?
  • How can we sit in the grief with one another and the grief we are all feeling?
  • How can we learn to listen to those we disagree with?
  • How can we open ourselves to their stories so we can reimagine a world where we all feel heard, safe and beloved?
  • How can we, through community and dialogue, learn together and move from passivity to action?
  • TOGETHER we renew and learn to advocate for true change

Dr. Nirinjan Kaur has been close friends with Valarie Kaur since 2016, working together with Jasvir Kaur Rababan on the Mai Bhago Leadership Circle to strengthen sisterhood for Sikh women in social justice. Nirinjan sat by Valarie’s side as she wrote See No Stranger, listening to her deliver each chapter as part of her Book Coven, and called in their deepest wisdom as highlighted in Ch. 9 “Transition.” Dr. Khalsa has been teaching See No Stranger to her undergraduate students at Loyola Marymount University, offering Sikh thought and practice through the lens of Revolutionary Love as the call of our times.
