KRI supports individuals who spread the teachings of Yogi Bhajan in their Specialty Courses. Since 2001, KRI has managed the intellectual property rights of the Teachings of Yogi Bhajan held by YB Teachings, LLC. Thus, we review the accuracy of the use of the teachings and grant these courses the KRI Seal of Approval – a mark of accuracy and quality.
The best time to contact KRI regarding the Specialty Course Seal is early in your course development. Working with KRI then means that course approval will be done efficiently within your timeline. We understand that you may already have developed and taught your course, it is not too late for you now to apply for the KRI Seal of Approval.
Please read this document carefully. If you feel that your course contains the necessary materials to qualify for the KRI Seal of Approval proceed with the following steps.
Note that specialty courses are not extensions of our current Teacher Training Programs. KRI Specialty Course approval does not mean that a graduate of the specialty course can teach Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan®. Specialty Courses are not extensions of the Aquarian Teacher Training Programs or a substitute for KRI Teacher Training Level One, Level Two or Level Three. KRI does not assist in the creation of these courses or administer them (registration, tracking of students, graduates, etc.). Specialty Courses do not have exclusivity; KRI will approve qualified courses consisting of the same subject matter.
Why apply for the Specialty/Extension Course KRI Seal of Approval?
The KRI Seal of Approval lets the course participants know that the materials included in your course have been reviewed to ensure that the materials utilized on Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® are conveyed with accuracy and integrity.
The KRI Seal of Approval honors those specialty courses that successfully meet the standards of KRI review and the Seal can be displayed on your course materials and advertisements. Courses with the Seal of Approval will be promoted by KRI and IKYTA. Collectively, we reach teachers and students of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® all over the world.
Steps to Receive the KRI Seal of Approval for your Specialty Course:
Step 1: Initial consultation
Contact Sir Neel Kaur at email@example.com for an initial consultation. Together we will determine whether your course is eligible for the KRI Seal of Approval. If eligible we will discuss the Review Process.
Step 2: Complete and submit the Application Form including all documentation
After the initial consultation the application form will be sent to you. Once completed, return to Siri Neel.
Step 3: Pay the $108 application fee to KRI
The application fee is paid through Paypal and receipt is required prior to the start of the review process.
Step 4: Complete the KRI Review Process for course material
On the application you will provide a list of the Teachings of Yogi Bhajan (including kriyas, meditations, quotations, and concepts) used in your course material and your source(s) for them. If your course material already has the KRI Seal of Approval, indicate that on the application form and you will not need to go through this step.
Any course material that has not been reviewed by KRI will need to go through the review process and revisions may be required for KRI approval. Allow 4 weeks to complete the review of course materials. Depending upon the amount of material to review and the reviewer’s schedule, it may take more or less time. The reviewer will work as best they can within your timeline.
Please note that completing the review and paying the application fee does not guarantee an approval.
Step 5: Complete a Royalty Agreement
Completing a Royalty Agreement for the use of the Teachings of Yogi Bhajan, is the last step before approving the course and sending you the Seal to use in your PR and your course material. These funds pay for our review staff as well as support the ongoing work of developing the Library of Teachings®. The royalty fee structure is standard; however, we will work with you for the arrangement that best suits your particular situation and course.
