From Me To You | January 2022
KRI is Celebrating 50 Years!
Sat Naam and greetings to you!
KRI is celebrating our 50th anniversary in 2022, and every month we will be launching new initiatives to celebrate this milestone together. In January, we want to let you know about these three new projects. For 50 years KRI has been upholding the standards of Kundalini Yoga and meditation, and supporting its spread around the globe. We are very excited to be laying a solid foundation for the next 500 years with you. This year we will be launching new initiatives each month. We will keep you informed of all the new and exciting things happening in our 50 year anniversary. Below are our initiatives this January!
Nominate a teacher for the KRI Outstanding Achievement Award:
Each year for the last 13 years, KRI has recognized and honored one or more Kundalini Yoga teachers with our Outstanding Achievement Award. Teachers of Kundalini Yoga all around the world have found, and are finding, innovative ways to serve and uplift members of their communities through the technology of Kundalini Yoga. KRI is very happy and proud to annually offer the Outstanding Achievement Award to recognize some of these amazing individuals. These Honorees are people who have tirelessly served, some spanning decades.
You can be inspired by reading about the previous award recipients here.
Beginning this year, the process will be even more community-centric, opening the process of nomination to all students, teachers and trainers. Anyone can nominate and anyone can be nominated for consideration. Until the end of January, you can use the form at the bottom of this webpage to nominate someone. Then later on in the first quarter of 2022, the members of the Aquarian Trainer Academy will review the nominees and vote for the 2022 Award recipient(s).
Kundalini Yoga Beyond Borders:
This year we are launching a NEW program called Kundalini Beyond Borders. This grant-giving program is to give financial help to some of the amazing seva projects that are being developed by Kundalini Yoga practitioners and teachers around the globe. Specifically, this program is to help get Kundalini Yoga into underserved populations. In March, we will be opening up the grant cycle to those that want to apply. More information will be given in February on how to apply and participate.
Our goal is to have $20,000 to give out in grants and we are still accepting donations if you want to support this work. We are already 3/4th of the way there! 100% of your donation will go to the grant program.
Cultivating Happiness Book Launch:
KRI is very proud to be co-publishing a book being released later this month titled, “Cultivating Happiness, Resilience, and Well-being Through Meditation, Mindfulness, and Movement:
A Guide for Educators.” Educators and families can use the tools presented in Cultivating Happiness, Resilience, and Well-Being to maintain a healthy balance in the midst of the current chaos, uncertainty, and anxiety. During times of turmoil, educators are able to help students and families heal in the moment, assisting their transition from unhealthy or dysfunctional to healthy or functional coping and resilience.
This book connects Kundalini yoga and meditation to the academic curriculum and serves as a tool to enhance student alertness, focus, and learning. It is intended as a practical guide to help educators use mindfulness, yoga, and meditation with virtual, hybrid, and in-person classrooms.
This compassionate work provides educators with easy-to-implement strategies and activities that use the breath and body to create change from the inside out. The goal of this comprehensive resource is not only to lower anxiety and challenging behaviors, but also to create learning communities that further joy, wonder, and happiness.
You can pre-order this great book at 20% off until Jan 19th, and we are offering a four and a half hour Live Webinar Series with the authors, worth $75, as a free gift for those who buy during the presale period!
I hope and pray that you and your loved one will have an amazing year in 2022. Of course, challenges abound. But life is still precious and beautiful as well. The strength and neutrality and calm nervous system that Kundalini Yoga and meditation can give you really helps to not just remember that, but to experience it.
Be blessed, be happy, and may you always feel the connection with your own infinite spirit,
