From Me To You | April 2022
Togetherness – Worth the Effort
Sat Naam and greetings to you!
I hope that April and the changing seasons are finding you well. Just over the last few weeks, I’ve found myself really, really longing for community. We humans are deeply social creatures, and it’s important, even for an introvert like me!, to feel part of a larger community, and feel the connections and togetherness that our web of relationships gives us. Social connections, friendships, family, intimate relationships – all different kinds and types of relationships weave together the tapestry of our lives. They support us when we need it, and they also become the legacy most of us will leave behind when we go.
As I’ve mentioned in these notes in prior months, our brains are sometimes not so good at discerning what will make us happy. And togetherness is one area that our instincts often mislead us. We underestimate the benefits we will gain by investing our time and energy into building, nurturing, and sustaining relationships. And we give too much weight to the minor hassles and challenges working with, and accommodating, other people.
The importance of togetherness is something that modern science and our yogic teachings agree on. But please know that community and supportive relationships don’t “just happen.” They require work! They take time and energy. You need to make conscious choices to prioritize being in community.
There are many ways you can be part of the KRI community, that can be part of your rewarding network of relationships and can support your inquiry and practice of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation. Several times a year we organize and host 40-day meditations that you can join from wherever you live. You can read more details below about the Kundalini Beyond Borders program – that you can support as a donor, apply to as a potential grant recipient, or stay in touch with to be inspired by amazing service projects happening around the world. You can also follow KRI on Instagram or Facebook to stay in touch with all that’s happening!
Highlights of this month
Kundalini Beyond Borders
Kundalini Beyond Borders is an initiative by KRI & IKYTA to provide grants to KRI certified Kundalini Yoga Teachers who are bringing Kundalini Yoga to an underserved population.
This program is to open doors that need to be opened. KRI is committed to ensuring that any person who wishes to experience Kundalini Yoga has access, feels welcome, and feels safe in the practice. This grant program is designed to support this commitment by providing grants to teachers expanding the impact of Kundalini Yoga into those populations with limited or no access currently.
With all the changes of the Aquarian Age, we are continually inspired by global leaders that reach out to build community relationships. The ripple effect of the work of many practitioners will hopefully lead to Kundalini Yoga and Meditation reaching every corner of the globe.
You can read more about this great program here. And if you are currently doing work, or planning to, that could fit the criteria for these grants, you can apply here.
Authentic Relationship Level Two
Hopefully, the opening of this Note got you a little inspired to give some focus and attention to building and maintaining your relationships! If you’re ready to dive deep into the yogic teachings and supportive tools in this area, check out the Authentic Relationships Level Two teacher training program!
This 6-day training starts with the most important relationship of all – that between you and your own Higher Self! You will learn about, and have the chance to practice, yogic techniques to remove the obstacles to relating to your own Soul, and forging a connection so strong, that you don’t have to ever feel that you are not connected to your Spirit – no matter what is happening in your external world.
You will then build on that foundational relationship with yourself, improving all the other types of relationships in your life. Given how important Togetherness is to our flourishing, and given how hard it is to get right, this program really should be required for every person to go through at least once!
KRI is offering this course online in July. Read more about this course, check out the dates and the training team, and register here.
There are many, many amazing KRI certified teacher training courses around the world; so I hope you will find one that works for you. They will all facilitate you gaining invaluable experiences and take-away tools for stronger relationships.
