About The Author

Learn and develop the skills needed for institutionalized healthcare settings. Yoga for Adults with Intellectual / Developmental Disabilities enhances choice for people in institutionalized settings and allows for greater autonomy support.

Learn revolutionary & evidence based approaches for a population that are often “told” what to do. Learn the unique yoga teaching style specific to helping adults with disabilities. For many yoga teachers used to “telling” a class what to do, the autonomy approach feels very “counterintuitive” to a traditional yoga class. In this webinar, we explore ways to embed choice within the teaching style.

    • Identify three autonomy supportive evidence based approaches to use with yoga for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
    • Understand how yoga teachers can then help older adults while in long term care facilities, group homes, recreational settings, prisons and psychiatric settings.
    • Imagine the endless outreach possibilities of sharing the teachings
    • Service oriented yoga teachers will walk away with renewed enthusiasm for supporting specialty populations.
