The Kundalini Research Institute is pleased to announce the recipients of our 2013 Outstanding Achievement Awards for their contributions to the legacy of The Teachings of Yogi Bhajan: Guru Dev Singh Khalsa and Guru Raj Kaur Khalsa
Singh Sahib Gurudev Singh Khalsa
Singh Sahib Gurudev Singh Khalsa has served as a fearless ambassador, for both KRI and The Aquarian Teacher: Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training as taught by Yogi Bhajan, in a time of turbulence and uncertainty for our community. KRI is grateful for his steadiness and dedication; he serves as a model for how to overcome conflict and reach consensus. Since joining the Teacher Training Executive Council, he has served its mission with grace and grit over the past few years, expanding teacher training, reaching out to other trainers, and elevating the reputation of KRI and Teaching Training around the world.
Gurudev Singh began studying Kundalini Yoga in 1977 under the guidance of Yogi Bhajan in Mexico City. He moved to Los Angeles to study near the Master in 1978 and completed a 40-day Teacher Training course in San Diego that same year. Yogiji inspired him to study, become a teacher, entrepreneur, husband, and father. He studied psychology in college and has used his life-long experience as a yogi, Minister of Sikh Dharma, and mentor to help others deepen their spiritual practice. Gurudev Singh is a Level 1 and Level 2 Lead Teacher Trainer teaching actively in North, Central, and South America.
